Ocean walks, good coffee, long lunches and time to simply enjoy being together.

Kiama is made for slowing down. This is our suggested 48-hour escape for couples who would rather wander than rush, with plenty of time to enjoy the ocean, local food and the little moments in between.

Friday Afternoon — Arrive & Unwind

• 3:00 PM — Arrive at Shutters
  Settle in, unpack and step onto your private balcony to take in the ocean. There's nowhere you need to be just yet. 
• 4:00 PM – A Drink by the Sea Pour a glass of wine, enjoy your complimentary sparkling wine and cheese platter, and watch the afternoon light over the water.
• 7:00 PM – Dinner in Town, Wander into town for a relaxed dinner. Little Betty's is a lovely choice for a cosy evening and sharing a few dishes.
  

Saturday: Coast, Coffee & Kiama 

• 8 am-Walk the Coast.  Start the morning with a gentle walk along the Kiama Coastal Walk. From Shutters, you can take in the ocean, cliffs and open countryside without needing to get in the car.  
• 10:00 AM – Kiama Harbour & Rockpool. Continue towards Kiama Harbour, passing the lighthouse and Norfolk Island Pines before wandering down to the rockpool. If the weather is warm, bring your swimmers.
• 1:00 PM – Wander the Heritage Streets. Take a leisurely wander through Kiama's Historic Terrace Houses on Collins Street, then explore the little shops and cafés tucked around the Sandstone Walk.
• 6:30 PM –Wine & Dinner Start the evening with a wine at Cin Cin Wine Bar, then settle in for dinner.

Sunday-A Slow Morning

• 9:00 AM – Don't Rush Breakfast Sleep in. Make a coffee. Open the shutters and watch the ocean from bed. There's no reason to hurry this morning.
• 11:00 AM –One Last Walk. Before heading home, take one last walk along Black Beach or around Kiama Harbour. Then it's time to reluctantly point the car towards home.

≋ Local Insider Tip: Staying midweek? The Kiama Farmers' Market is held every Wednesday afternoon at Coronation Park beside Surf Beach. Pick up something local for a picnic or a treat for the drive home.
